High Commissioner for Children Sarah El Haïry announced yesterday the launch of the "Family Choice" label, aimed at combating the "No Kids" trend and restoring children's place in our society.
The High Commissioner thus wishes to " make France a family-friendly country, where every child is welcomed and respected ."
Starting July 5, each family will be able to connect to a dedicated platform to recommend a family establishment (museum, hotel, restaurant, etc.). To benefit from this label, several criteria will be retained, such as the establishment implementing a special child rate and a children's event at least once a year, having staff who are friendly towards young people, and having suitable facilities (chairs, children's toilets, play area, etc.).
The High Commissioner is promoting a simple, visual label, without administrative burden and accessible, a participatory label proposed by families for families, and focused on a clear commitment to the rights and place of children.
" Welcoming families is not marketing, but a societal choice. Making our children invisible is more than ever a form of violence inflicted on them. I am very proud to take action to raise awareness and to commit myself alongside multiple partners to a 'Pro Kids' movement. In the face of 'No Kids', let's embrace the model of society that is the pride of our country ," said Sarah El Haïry.
The first 50 certified establishments will be invited to the Ministry of Health and Families for a ceremony next October.
